StarHub confirms 3G voice network disruption

StarHub says its 3G outgoing voice call service was temporarily affected in western and central areas but has been fully restored as of 5pm.

SINGAPORE: StarHub's 3G outgoing voice call service was temporarily affected in certain western and central areas of Singapore earlier on Tuesday (June 10), but the telco says service was fully restored at 5pm.

"We are monitoring the situation closely to ensure service stability for our customers. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank affected customers for their patience and understanding.”

StarHub earlier said the "intermittent 3G outgoing voice call issue" was being progressively restored, after complaints from customers on its Facebook page who said they have been unable to make calls since this morning (June 10). The telco had advised affected customers to switch to 2G networks to make outgoing calls.

Facebook user Abhijeet Kulkarni said on Starhub's Facebook page: "(I've been) unable to make any outgoing calls on my phone since 9.30am today." Another customer, Frasir Chan, also wrote on the page: "We at Bendemeer area are not able to make calls."

A viewer, Gary, informed Channel NewsAsia at noon that his network had been down for around three hours and he was unable to call out using his mobile phone.
