WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR 16 - 31 May 2009
For the next fortnight, weak Southwest Monsoon condition is expected to prevail over Singapore and the surrounding region with low level winds blowing predominantly from the south-southeast or southwest.
During this period, widespread showers with thunder and occasional gusty winds due to Sumatra squalls are likely on 1 to 2 days in the predawn hours and early morning. Short-duration showers with thunder are also expected on 4 to 5 days between the late morning and afternoon.
The rainfall for the May 2009 is likely to be above average for most parts of Singapore.
