Contact tracing completed for 7th, 8th, 9th H1N1 cases in Singapore

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Health (MOH) says it has managed to get in touch with all the close contacts of the 7th, 8th and 9th H1N1 patients in Singapore.

The 7th case is a 30—year—old Australian tourist who touched down in Singapore on June 1 after a two—week stay in the US.

MOH said there were no local contacts and all 36 passengers who were in close proximity to him have been identified. Seven have been served Home Quarantine Orders; the others are now out of Singapore.

The ministry has also identified 18 passengers who were in close contact with the 8th case, a 16—year—old student. He had travelled to the US between May 17 and 31. Eight will be served quarantine orders.

Of the remaining 10, five are known to be outside the country while the other five are foreigners with no known local address. Border authorities are on the lookout for them.

As for the 9th case, a 19—year—old Singaporean student, home quarantine orders have been issued to two family members.

The patient, who is studying in the US, had returned to Singapore for the holidays. She arrived from New York via Tokyo on All Nippon Airways NH901 at 23:40 hours on May 28.

MOH said contact tracing for her fellow passengers was not initiated as she developed symptoms only 24 hours after landing.

Contact tracing for the 10th and 11th cases is underway.

System Updates

The old cheap graphics PCI graphics card is messing up one of the systems again and thus unable to perform testing and simulation till probably next week or so. (Hint: PC Show =) )

(Yes,I still have old PCI graphics card with me as the previous PCI-X graphics card died and not enough money to upgrade to latest PCI-X.)
