SINGAPORE: Last year’s cohort of GCE A-Level students scored the best results since the curriculum was changed in 2006, with 93.1 per cent scoring at least three Higher 2 (H2) passes, with a pass in General Paper or Knowledge and Inquiry.

The 13,582 students who sat for the examination last year topped the previous best set by the 2014 cohort, where 91.4 per cent achieved the same standard of passes.

The A-level curriculum was revised in 2006, with the first cohort of candidates taking their examinations in 2007. The pass percentage has steadily increased since then, with 87.5 per cent of the 2007 cohort achieving a similar standard of passes.

School candidates received their results at their schools on Friday at 2.30pm. Private candidates will receive their results by post, or they can use their SingPass account to obtain their results at the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board’s website from 2.30pm on Friday.

Students can now use their A-Level results to apply to the five local universities. For the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore University of Technology and Design and Singapore Management University, the application deadline is April 1st, while the Singapore Institute of Technology closes its online application on March 18.
