Release Of 3rd Quarter 2013 Public Housing Data

 This press release provides the housing data for the HDB resale and rental markets in 3rd Quarter 2013.


HDB Resale Market


2The Resale Price Index (RPI) fell by 0.9% from 206.6 in 2nd Quarter 2013 to 204.8 in 3rd Quarter 2013 (see Annex A) (PDF 23KB), registering the first decline since 1Q2009.


3Resale transactions decreased by 13% from 5,235 cases in 2nd Quarter 2013 to 4,529 cases in 3rd Quarter 2013 (see Annex B) (PDF 15KB)

4The median resale prices and cash-over-valuation amounts in the various towns are tabulated in Annexes C (PDF 23KB) and D (PDF 23KB).



HDB Rental Market

5The median subletting rents in the various towns in 3rd Quarter 2013 are tabulated in Annex E (PDF 23KB)


6Subletting transactions fell by 5% from 7,891 cases in 2nd Quarter 2013 to 7,505 cases in 3rd Quarter 2013 (see Annex F (PDF 14KB)). The total number of HDB flats approved for subletting rose 0.6% from 44,706 units in 2nd Quarter 2013 to 44,966 units in 3rd Quarter 2013.




Upcoming Sales Launches


7To date, HDB has offered 20,161 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats and 4,455 balance flats under BTO and Sale of Balance Flats (SBF) exercises. HDB is on track to launch 25,000 BTO flats for the whole of 2013.


8In Nov 2013, HDB will offer about 4,950 BTO flats in Bukit Batok, Hougang, Jurong West, Sembawang and Woodlands. An additional 3,000 balance flats will be offered in a concurrent SBF exercise. More information on the BTO flats for offer in Nov 2013 is available on the HDB InfoWEB.
