Insurance industry continues to thrive

SINGAPORE: The insurance industry continues to thrive on the need to protect against the unforeseen.
The industry is also boosted by a robust economy.
New insurance sales grew 17 per cent in the third quarter from a year earlier.
The Life Insurance Association (LIA) said new sales in the past three quarters exceeded S$1.13 billion.
Annual premiums sales grew 22 per cent from a year earlier, to S$763.7 million.
Sales of health insurance and single-premium policies grew seven to eight per cent from a year earlier.
LIA said sales may grow 20 per cent in the fourth quarter.
