Juniper protects information infrastructure for Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa
SINGAPORE, APRIL 1, 2010—Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) is using a portfolio of Juniper Networks security solutions to protect its information infrastructure.

Network specialist Juniper Networks will secure the 49-ha integrated gaming and tourist resort located on Singapore’s holiday island of Sentosa. Resorts World Sentosa also includes six hotels, Universal Studios Singapore, Marine Life Park and a museum of maritime history.

Network security
Both low latency and confidentiality of network traffic are very important for the modern casino, according to Yap Chee Yuen, senior vice president and head of information technology, Resorts World Sentosa.
The resort’s gaming facilities include realtime content and other time-sensitive transactional traffic and thus it was searching for a solution that could deliver superior performance without compromising network security.
Yuen said they evaluated other available solutions in the market and decided on the Juniper solutions that not only met these crucial criteria but also gave them a low total-cost-of-ownership as well as highly versatile management options.

Enables remote access
The modular, chassis-based systems from Juniper Networks solutions can deliver comprehensive high-availability and can be partitioned into multiple security domains. Juniper is guarding Resorts World against a variety of potential network attacks and addressing its remote access requirements.
Juniper's integrated network and security management software is helping Resorts World Sentosa to control this sophisticated infrastructure by enabling granular security policy configuration and consistent policy implementation across all devices. Network managers can also use this software for comprehensive monitoring and investigation.

“It is becoming evident that a high-performance network is not only a key enabler for enterprises such as Resorts World Sentosa, but that the success of the business depends on the quality of the traffic security and handling,” said Wendy Koh, vice president of ASEAN, Juniper Networks. “We are pleased that our network security solutions are recognised by the market for their innovation and excellent economics.”
