SINGAPORE: StarHub said it will compensate customers whose services were affected by the fire at SingTel's Bukit Panjang Exchange earlier this month.
This comes ahead of its compensation discussion with SingTel.
StarHub leases fibre capacity from SingTel, and some of its customers had their services disrupted when the fire broke out.
As compensation, affected StarHub TV customers will get free viewing of more than 170 channels for a month.
Digital Voice customers will get their subscription fee waived for a month, and broadband customers will receive a S$10 supermarket voucher.
Letters will be sent to affected customers with more details.
StarHub said the compensation is a gesture of appreciation to affected customers who had shown patience and understanding during the disruption.
It also noted that during the service disruption, StarHub's topmost priority was to restore services for affected customers as quickly as possible, while ensuring that they were updated on the restoration progress through announcements on social media channels and the hotline.
To further assist fibre broadband customers whose services were affected for a longer period of time, StarHub provided temporary cable broadband access for free while they waited for their fibre connection to be rectified.
StarHub's cable TV, cable broadband and Digital Voice services were restored for customers on October 10, while all of its affected fibre broadband connections were back to normal by October 18.
