Pokemon Go Confirms Shiny Magikarp Will Appear after Water Festival Event Ends
Pokemon Go Confirms Shiny Magikarp Will Appear after Water Festival Event Ends
Christian Hoffer- 03/29/2017
Last week, Pokemon Go surprised fans by introducing Shiny Magikarp and Shiny Gyarados into the popular mobile game as part of its special "Water Festival" event. Shiny Pokemon are super-rare alternate colored Pokemon, and fans were delighted to have another type of Pokemon to hunt for after completing their regular PokeDex.
While there was concern that the Shiny Magikarp would disappear at the end of the Water Festival, Pokemon Go confirmed that the Shiny Pokemon are here to stay. In a brief tweet, the mobile app's PR team stated that players should still keep an eye out for the uber-rare Pokemon:

Although there's no in-game advantage to using a Shiny Magikarp in battle, they're currently one of the hardest to find Pokemon in the game. Players can also evolve the Shiny Magikarp into a Red Gyarados, a fearsome Pokemon that would look wonderful at the top of any Pokemon gym.
As of right now, it appears that the Shiny Magikarp and Gyarados are the only Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go. Some websites speculated that more Shiny Pokemon would be added at the end of the Water Festival, but that doesn't to be the case. If anything, it's much more likely that Pokemon Go will introduce the Shiny Pokemon in small doses to keep players interested during (and after) events.
Let us know if you've found a Shiny Magikarp in the comments below and stay tuned to WWG's Pokemon page for all your Pokemon news.
No luck yet... Trying to catch shiny magikarp
