Weather Outlook: 15 - 30 August 2009
For the next fortnight, weak Southwest Monsoon conditions should continue to prevail over Singapore and the surrounding region. The low level winds over Singapore are likely to be blowing from the southeast.
During this period, short-duration showers with thunder are expected on 4 to 5 days in the afternoon. Widespread showers with thunder can also be expected on 1 to 2 days in the late morning and early afternoon.
Rainfall for August 2009 is likely to be below average for most parts of Singapore. As periods of few consecutive dry days are common during the Southwest Monsoon season, brief period of slight haze may be expected in Singapore on one to two days.
