Singapore will hold the first AsiaEducationExpo 2013 (AEX2013), which will showcase the latest education technologies and methodologies, and allow educators and policymakers from the region to network and exchange ideas.
The expo will be held from Nov 20 to 22 at the Singapore Expo Hall 2, in collaboration with Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation Regional Language Centre.
Sphere Exhibits - the events, roadshows and exhibitions arm of Singapore Press Holdings - announced the event on Monday.
The expo will showcase new ways of instruction and best practices that encourage and motivate learning. It will also highlight new and emerging offerings from educational and instructional technology providers, such as alternative platforms that can be used for learning, among other things.

SITEX attracts 800,000 visitors, S$40m in sales expected

SINGAPORE: The last mega IT fair of the year, SITEX, is estimated to have attracted 800,000 visitors over its four-day run.
Organisers say they expect to rake in some 40 to 45 million dollars at the end of the fair on Sunday.
Some of the eye-catching items at the fair included a robot that dances to "Gangnam style" and a "Tablet-Man" that collects wishes.
Also seen at the fair was a mobile phone that can be used as a hammer and submerged in water.
Four mega IT fairs have been held this year.
In total, the fairs are estimated to have generated visitorship of 3.25 million people and spending of S$247 million.
For the first time, SITEX hosted a tournament featuring 64 of the world's best gamers.
The gamers competed in the popular online games League of Legends and StarCraft II.
"This is something (that is the) first in Southeast Asia, and we are happy to host it and we want to promote this for future events as well," said Henry Chua, projects manager at Singex Exhibition Ventures. "Definitely, gaming is a growing trend right now."

DESPITE the economic slowdown, the Sitex information-technology fair saw a record of more than 800,000 visitors - an increase of 50,000 from last year.
Estimated sales revenue for the four-day event - which began last Thursday and ended yesterday - were also up $5 million from last year's $40 million, hitting record-breaking status.
Mr Edwin Low, chief executive officer of Singapore Expo, which manages the 20-year-old event, said that there was strong demand for laptops and desktops, followed by digital cameras and MP3 players.
Toshiba Singapore's sales rose by 30 per cent from last year. Suzuki Technology sold 800 laptops this year, compared with last year's sales of 100 units .Mr Low added that sales may be good as -consumers are becoming more prudent by buying more affordable electronic goods in place of bigger-ticket items such as properties and cars.
Asus Technology and Suzuki Technology allowed the trade-in of old goods for discounts on new gear.
Purchaser Susan Koo (pictured) traded in an old notebook, getting a new Suzuki notebook at $1,428 - $60 off its retail price.
As the market is bad, buying a new notebook at a lower price is even more worth it," she said. Cash Converters, which was there to buy second-hand electronics for cash on the spot, saw the total value of second-hand electronic goods sold to them increase by 6 per cent from last year, when they purchased $30,000 worth of goods.

I intended to go Sitex yesterday evening to look at some networking products but I changed my mind due to some personal reasons.
