The woman who rescued and found a home for a seven-month old puppy that was later put to sleep by its new owners, has approached Law Minister K Shanmugam for assistance.

SINGAPORE: Ada Ong, the woman who rescued, and found a home for a seven-month old puppy that was later put down for aggression by its new owners, has approached Law and Foreign Affairs Minister K Shanmugam for assistance.

Posting on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Mr Shanmugam said Ada had spoken to him and shown him a document signed with the adopter of Tammy, the puppy.

She had also told him that she made clear to the puppy's adopter in subsequent conversations that she was prepared to take the dog back, and also showed him mobile text exchanges that seem to bear out what she said.

Mr Shanmugam said he's given Ada his views on the contract.

He added that Ada asked him for help, and he's suggested a lawyer who would offer help  pro bono.

Reports of the apparently healthy puppy being put down for aggression on the request of its adopter, have prompted calls for the case to be looked into.
