SINGAPORE: October's tender for the rental of a hawker stall saw a successful S$10 bid.
It is the lowest since the National Environment Agency renewed its rules in April.
The successful bidder will operate a flower shop at the Bukit Merah View Market and Hawker Centre.
And existing stall holders aren't seeing red over this low rental, instead, they are happy to have more stall holders in the market.
Bukit Merah View Merchants and Hawkers Committee's member Peh Cheng Hoe said: "It's fair competition. We welcome more hawkers because right now (as) the products sold here aren't wide-ranging.
"So, whether the rental is S$10 or S$50 per month, we would welcome them -- especially if they can help bring in more customers."
