During the next fortnight, the prevailing Southwest Monsoon will continue to affect Singapore and the surrounding region. The low level winds should blow predominantly from the southeast or southwest.
For this period, short-duration showers with thunder are expected on 4 to 5 days between the late morning and early afternoon. In addition, widespread showers with thunder accompanied with occasional gusty winds due to "Sumatra" squalls are likely on 1 to 2 days in the predawn hours and early morning. Rainfall for June 2009 is likely to be below normal for most parts of Singapore.
As periods of consecutive dry days are common during Southwest Monsoon season, slightly hazy condition conditions over Singapore can be expected on a few days.
